IVERHEAL Ivermectin Cream 1.0% is primarily used to treat the following skin conditions:
- Scabies:
- Indication: Treatment of scabies, a highly contagious skin infestation caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. The cream helps eliminate the mites and their eggs, which reduces the associated itching and rash.
- Rosacea (Off-label use):
- Indication: Used off-label for the treatment of moderate to severe rosacea. Ivermectin can help reduce the inflammation and redness associated with this chronic skin condition.
Mechanism of Action:
Ivermectin, the active ingredient in IVERHEAL Cream, works by binding to certain chloride channels in the nervous system and muscles of parasites. This causes paralysis and death of the parasitic mites, effectively treating scabies. In rosacea, Ivermectin’s anti-inflammatory properties help to reduce redness and swelling of the skin.
